This is an education program that involves having students plan, design and make something based on the theories they have learned in university.
The ultimate aim is to help students develop creative problem-solving skills which they can use to tackle issues they run into in the field.

Eligibility

  • Students in their third year or higher who belong to a department participating in the LINC+ Program and who is taking a capstone design course

Support Type & Description

1) Capstone Design Course
  • * Capstone Design with Industry Participation : The student receives mentoring or feedback from an industry expert one or more times or complete a capstone design project based on a challenging technology noted by the industry
  • ** Capstone Design in Connection with Field placement : The student executes the project in connection with what he/she has learned during the field placement or completes a capstone design project with the enterprise where he/she gained field placement
  • *** Capstone Design in Specialized Fields : The student executes a capstone design project in the field of bio & healthcare, AI & big data, smart mobility or new renewable energy
  • **** Capstone Design Centering on the Region : A capstone design project implemented in connection with a local institution or in regard to an issue affecting the region
2) Multi-disciplinary Capstone Design Program

A convergence education program in which students with different majors come together to solve the issues concerning society or an industry so that their creativity, practical skills, and teamwork and leadership skills can be nurtured through the opportunity to cooperate and communicate with other students

Description of the Support

  • Consulting Fees
    • - Consulting fees are provided to industry experts involved in capstone design projects
    • - Consulting fee: KRW 200,000 per session (4 hours), up to 2 times for each team
  • Equipment and Materials
    • - A 3D printer and financial assistance for procuring the necessary materials are provided for prototype production
  • Participation in Off-Campus Competitions
    • - Additional financial assistance for participation fees, materials, production, ransportation, etc. incurred from participation in off-campus competitions (contests) using the outcomes of the capstone design project (application required; amount of financial assistance is determined after a review of the application form)
  • Patent Application
    • - Financial assistance for applying for a patent (intellectual property) in order to patent the outcomes of the capstone design project or startup education/club program
